The team at Home Instead Exeter & East Devon has officially been declared a ‘5 star Employer’, showing that care really is a worthwhile career.
Results not only show that care really is a worthwhile career path to take but also that we, as a Company, are living up to our pledge to be different, with our team of over one hundred highly commending Home Instead in relation to factors such as top-quality training opportunities and supportive leadership.
All clients and team members were invited to take part in an anonymous survey by independent employee engagement experts, WorkBuzz. The PEAQ (Pursuing Excellence by Advancing Quality) survey offers our entire team and client base the chance to have their say on the topics that matter most.
The PEAQ survey results often shape our plans and help the leadership team at Home Instead Exeter & East Devon to make crucial decisions for the future, benefitting Clients and Care Professionals alike. Last year, the leadership team implemented a wide variety of changes to enhance client experience, workplace culture, retention, training and rewards for team members.
Impressive scores of 100% were also achieved in each area with regards to the recruitment process, training and preparation for the Care Professional role, and support from the company. Plus, 97% of care professionals said they are proud to work for us at Home Instead, while 95% said that their role gives them the opportunity to learn and develop new skills.
Vanessa McGlade, our Co-owner at Home Instead Exeter and East Devon, is always calling for more people to come onboard and join our team, and in relation to these results says, “Our Personalised Career Pathways scheme currently sees us supporting over twenty percent of the team with fully funded RQF qualifications, enabling them to build their skillset and be eligible for higher rates of pay. We are really focussed on enabling our team members to take their career in whichever direction they choose – and there are many options. Due to demand for our quality care services, we have in excess of thirty care professional vacancies on offer for people who want to begin or further a career in care, across the Exeter and east Devon communities.”
Our team members have also praised the Company for being a supportive employer, with regard to wellbeing. The leadership team are actively breaking boundaries by championing issues that can affect employees, such as menopause, and by running regular events such as book clubs, walking groups and social gatherings to bring our valued colleagues together as friends.
Our Co-owner Mark McGlade says, “We want to be the employer of choice in home care in the local area and this 5 Star award tells us that we are achieving that aim.
“Our employees feel supported and valued and that’s something that’s really important for us. We know that we will continue to provide truly outstanding care in the community. The message that we also want to voice is that we are offering some equally outstanding recruitment opportunities too. The role of Care Professional with Home Instead is just that – it’s a profession, and our team are highly regarded and hugely respected. We would encourage anyone looking for a role that can fit around family life – and given the financial pressures for families currently – fit around other work commitments, to get in touch.”
Steven Frost, CEO of WorkBuzz has these kind words to say with regards to the 2022 survey:
