New Live-in Care Service
Home Instead East Northants is delighted to launch its new live-in care service. Clients from North Bedfordshire all the way to Kettering and everywhere in between have the option to have a CAREGiver with them at all times, making it more feasible for the elderly to remain at home.
A live-in CAREGiver will be the elderly person’s companion, who is there to oversee their client’s wellbeing day and night.
Mrs D can remain in her own home with the knowledge that her CAREGiver is close by always. Knowing that someone is there in the night should she need to get up, has given her great reassurance.
Our live-in care supports a whole range of scenarios that elderly people find themselves in, including:-
· Long-term conditions, such Parkinson’s
· Losing a spouse
· Unexpected illness and events.
Mr & Mrs C both have Dementia and it was becoming increasingly difficult for them to manage independent living.
Having live in care means that this couple are living safely in their own home, together. They are encouraged to continue to maintain their daily routines in and outside of the house, going out for walks in the community as well as learning new skills like shopping for the weekly groceries on the internet with their CAREGiver.
Our live-in care is tailored to meet the individual needs of clients and their loved ones. It can range from companionship, to help with bathing, dressing and mobility. We work closely with clients to understand what they need from a CAREGiver and hand-pick a trained individual who can deliver on their care needs. Like, CB who supports Mrs D.
Mrs D feels very vulnerable due to her mobility. For her, it was important to have a CAREGiver that could meet all her personal care needs, but mostly to have someone around her that she could trust. She needed to know that if she called out, her CAREGiver would not be far away. CB started the live-in package with Mrs D and it soon became apparent they are a true match. They share the same interests, watch the same old movies, enjoy the same style of cooking and share a love for the garden.
For me, I feel I could not have been more perfectly matched with my client. There is always something to do as well as having the time to sit and have a chat and a cuppa.
Mark Darnell, owner, Home Instead East Northants, says: “We have offered home care to elderly and vulnerable people in the community for 11 years, so to offer live-in care was a natural progression for us.
For many, they are not aware that you can remain living in your own home when independent living becomes a challenge. Often, they believe that the next step is to go into a care home. By offering Live in care, we have been able to discuss options with our clients and let them know that if home is where they want to be, we can support them to stay there.
