It was an honour to be able to play a small part in the wonderful floral festivities at the recent Annual Chorley Flower Show 2024.
The Annual Chorley Flower Show always boasts exquisite lawns, an amazing variety of beautiful flowers, plenty of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, and stands for almost all gardening needs.
The Annual Chorley Flower Show also allows for local horticulturalists, services, charities, and organisations to present their own garden display, through various exhibitions.
Alongside fellow members of the Chorley Dementia Action Group, including Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Chorley Council, Sporting Memories, Home Instead and others came together in collaboration to bring the Reminiscence Garden to the 2024 Chorley Flower Show (designed with input from local people living with Dementia).
The Chorley Dementia Action Group were delighted and proud to be awarded a Silver Prize Certificate as part of the ‘Community and School Show Garden’ category.
It was a lovely day, and the flower show was as always very well attended. Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, Speaker of the House of Commons, kindly called in to offer his support and see the special Silver Award-winning garden for himself, also taking an interest in the work of the Chorley Dementia Action Group in the local community, as well as recognising the contribution, dedication, and commitment of the group members in general.
