Explore Home Instead Chesterfield's outstanding dementia care and community event participation during Dementia Action Week and beyond.
This Dementia Action Week, it’s a time for reflection, education and importantly, action. In Chesterfield, our Home Instead office stands at the forefront of dementia care, providing compassionate and professional support to our clients living with dementia, and their families in and around our local area.
This month, it was fantastic to be at the “Memory Market Place” at Chesterfield Football Stadium which offered us an opportunity to meet local people in the community. The incredible Dementia Friendly Chesterfield hosted this event, and as well as Stephanie and Nicole from Home Instead Chesterfield, there were over 100 local attendees, as well as other organisations dedicated to supporting those living with dementia.
Dementia Action Week is not just a week in our calendar – it’s a year-round commitment. Events such as the Memory Marketplace are important to maintain awareness and provide accessible resources to our local community.
Our Care Professionals, trained in specialist dementia care, demonstrate unwavering dedication to providing personalised support. This specialist training enables them to manage the unique challenges presented by dementia, ensuring compassionate and competent care.
‘My loved one is now in the later stages of dementia, needing a specialised level of personal care. As the dementia has progressed, the managers of the service and the Care Professionals have supported us throughout, working alongside us, listening and responding to our needs, updating care plans as necessary, offering much-needed guidance and empathy. It takes a team to care for someone with dementia and Home Instead, in collaboration with community-based medical professionals, are an integral part of our team.’
