What is best? Residential care in unfamiliar surroundings or personalised one-to-one care in your home full of memories for you and your loved ones?
Our home care in Cannock offers supportive services needed to ensure a great quality of life and independence while still living at home.
Home Instead Cannock and Burntwood provides premium, relationship led home care for older people in their own homes in Cannock, Burntwood, Penkridge and other areas around Cannock Chase. Our premium care and companionship service, provides support to people to carry on enjoying their lives as independently as possible at home rather than unfamiliar settings. Moving into a care home can be an option to people who may need 24-hour care – but we offer a Live-In Care service so you can remain at home. If that level of support is not needed, we provide services from Home Help and Housekeeping to Companionship and Personal Care. We train our teams to be able to support people who live with dementia.
Our personalised care plans centre around how a person wants to spend their day. Depending on the number of visits, we can assist people to get ready for the day, that may include an initial cuppa, a shower, choosing an outfit and assisting a person to look their best, maybe their favourite jewellery or a familiar scent. Next, we may prepare breakfast, prompt with any required medication, wash up and tune in the radio to their favourite station.
We may pop back at lunchtime, make a home-cooked meal, put the washing machine on, unpack the shopping delivery and wash up and clear away. Then in the evening, we may make a sandwich or light meal, run the hoover round and sort the laundry. A night time visit would usually settle the person in their favourite night-time routine, make a hot cocoa or nightcap, depending on preference and ensure everything is to hand before setting up for the following day and leaving the property securely locked up for the night.
We know that often needs will change over time, so initally we might be engaged to take someone out to the shops or the garden centre for a browse and a coffee. Then later there may be a need for more physical support. Over time, the relationships that our Care Professionals develop with our clients, allows them to spot those subtle changes early and adjust the care or companionship level required.
We are able to support many needs and frailties and have staff trained to support those living with Dementia, Parkinsons, End of Life and many conditions that impact the person’s independence.
