Kirsty Hirst - Director of Care & Compliance

I started my career in social care 19 years ago and in that time my passion and enthusiasm to work with the elderly (as well as my experience) has rocketed. Initially, I started working for a housing association and eventually became Care Manager for one of their residential care homes in Burnham on Sea. It was here where I started to really learn and understand the issues that the elderly experience. Driven by compassion and a big heart, I’ve stayed within the care industry ever since. As Care Manager, I was responsible for the day to day operations of the care home, but invariably helped our residents to wash, dress, assist with bathing and other aspects of personal care where necessary. There's nothing like hands-on experience to ground you and remind yourself of the difficulties that older people face. 

I acknowledge, totally understand, and feel passionate about helping older people to retain their independence and live in their own homes. Who doesn't want to remain in their own home? Home is where the heart is... I joined Home Instead Bristol North in October 2015 initially as Care Manager. I'm responsible for the day-to-day service we provide, I keep in close contact with external companies who assist our clients to ensure our care package is bespoke, and can meet any need our clients may have. I'm also responsible for the training and supervision of our big hearted Care Professionals who join our enthusiastic and happy team. 

When I'm not at work I have a very busy home life and most of it revolves around my gregarious son. I look forward to continuing to work with the most trusted care company, by providing a consistently high quality service to meet the needs, and exceed the expectation of our clients, as well as nurturing our outstanding team of Care Professionals.

John Moore - Director

Hi, I'm John - the founder and owner of Home Instead Bristol North. I am married to my wife, Anna  and have three grown up children. We have lived in Bristol for over 30 years, and through personal experience, I understand the importance of great care at home for young and old alike. 

My career journey has taken me through large and small firms across industrial and health settings. Home Instead's values and beliefs struck such a chord with me that I decided to establish this service here in my local community - so we can bring joy to our clients and help them continue living comfortably at home. 

I'm passionate about us getting this right and recognise that this is all and only possible through our amazing team of Care Professionals. They are truly wonderful people who share our vision of touching lives and bringing joy. Each of the team has been carefully vetted and thoroughly trained and I'm proud of them all.

Helen - Deputy Care Manager

Hi, I’m Helen. I’ve worked in the care industry since I was 18 in various sectors including: managing a home for adults with Autism, working in the community with the out of hours district nurse team and working in a nursing home for the elderly. I am also a fully trained Soul Midwife, working with people at the end of their life and supporting their families too.

I am a proud mum of three wonderful children who have now all flown the nest. My home life is still busy and filled with love, laughter and fairy lights as I live with my partner and his three gorgeous children. 

I started my journey with Home Instead as a carer five years ago. For the past year, I have been Deputy Care Manager, supporting our amazing Care Professionals and Supervisors to deliver outstanding care to our lovely clients. I am passionate about the care we deliver and the values Home Instead hold. In short, I love my job!

Rebecca Fudge - Deputy Care Manager, Downend

Hi, I'm Rebecca and I'm the Deputy Care Manager at the Downend office. I began my career in the care sector 15 years ago, working in the domiciliary and specialist care fields. 

I joined Home Instead in 2018 as a carer and have enjoyed every part of my continuing journey with this fantastic organisation. My role includes consultations, reviews and the general day to day running of the office. I love meeting new clients and hearing their stories, and knowing that the support we offer will enable them to continue living in their own homes for as long as possible.

It's a really rewarding role that I feel proud and honoured to do.

Liz Hegarty - Recruitment & Marketing Manager

Hello, I’m Liz. I joined Home Instead in 2017 having worked in Design and Public Relations for over 25 years. 

My career path then became shaped by the health and well-being of elderly parents and parents in-law. Through this I gained first hand experience of being a carer, as well as dealing with home care agencies and residential care homes. Not only did this develop my interest in the care sector as a whole, it also gave me a real understanding of what many of our clients and their families are going through when they approach us for support. 

We have an amazing team of Care Professionals who are committed to delivering outstanding care and who share our vision to treat our clients just as we would our own families. It's an absolute pleasure to know them all and be part of this Home Instead team.
