Home care in Oakley

One of three English villages with the same name, Oakley (Hampshire) is a village and civil parish four miles west of Basingstoke with a population of just under 6,000.  It appears in the Doomesday Book of 1086.

In the centre of the village is a duck pond inhabited by mallards and coots, surrounded by thatched houses.  As well as local shops, the village is endowed with three pubs.

The parish has two conservation areas and much of the villages of Oakley and nearby Deane, together with 17 listed buildings, lie within them.

A news story in the Guardian and Independent newspapers in 2007 records Oakley being voted the happiest village, with the highest quality of life, in Britain - judged on 37 criteria including traffic accidents, household wealth, overcrowding, air quality and premature mortality.

No wonder then that elderly people in Oakley ask Home Instead Basingstoke to help them continue living comfortably and independently in their own homes.

We have been providing home care services in Oakley since 2015. Here’s how one client’s daughter in law described our services:

“ The Basingstoke branch of Home Instead has been helping my mother-in-law for the last couple of years. Throughout this period, the team have proved to be reliable, flexible and easy to deal with. During the COVID pandemic, they have been absolutely exceptional and have provided my mother-in-law with not only excellent care but also with emotional support which has been very reassuring for both her and us during this stressful period. Thank you Home Instead.”
