Home Instead CAREGivers become Dementia Friends!
On Friday Home Instead Worthing and Steyning were proud to have 12 of its fabulous CAREGivers sign up to become Dementia Friends. As part of one of our regular meetings Lynsey Tran from Dementia Friendly Worthing came in to talk to us about Dementia and give us advice on how to begin to understand people with a Dementia and support them in the best way possible.
Home Instead provides the very best City and Guilds approved training for it’s CAREGivers, but becoming a Dementia Friend is a great introduction. The session is very interactive and stimulates an open and frank discussion about Dementia and how to enable people to live well with Dementia.
If you, or someone you care for, needs some extra support to enable them to live well with Dementia then click here or give us a call on 01903 206979 and we would be delighted to talk you through the support options available and visit you for a free of charge, no obligation, care consultation to discuss your needs.
As well as providing traditional care, such as help with washing and dressing in the morning, Home Instead can also support with nutrition and meal preparation. We can also help by providing extra companionship support. Trips out and about, a cup of tea and a familiar face, help with the crossword anything at all to help people live well their way.
Home Instead also run a Memory Café every month in Worthing (On the fourth Wednesday of every month at West Worthing Baptist Church between 2pm and 4pm). There is free tea, coffee, biscuits and cake. There are games and activities as well. It is a quiet and relaxing place for people with Dementia, their carers and their loved ones. For more information please call the office on 01903 206079.
