Mark Hamer - Managing Director
I have had a career in Senior Management in the Retail sector, where understanding what people really need and delivering on your promises with a focus on quality service and building strong, lasting relationships have been central to success.
Watching a very close loved one go into care made me ask lots of questions about how care services are traditionally provided, and why so many Seniors end up in residential care when, with help and support they can continue to enjoy life where they really want to be - in their own home.
When I found out about Home Instead Senior Care I knew I had discovered an organisation that would help me operate a care service which would focus on quality delivery for the individual, not just see care as a task.
I know Worcestershire well, having lived in the County for several years as well as operating businesses in the area, and I look forward to telling you more about what Home Instead Worcester can do for you.
Laura Goodridge- Operations Manager / RCM
Having worked as a retail manager for five years, I wanted something more rewarding. In my spare time I supported my great grandparents in their older age eventually giving me the confidence to leave retail and become a carer in the community. Working my way up to the role I am in now has given me opportunity to experience the different roles home care has to offer. Completing my NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care in April 2016 has given me the knowledge to be able to support my team with their daily workings and to understand the different aspects of care and management.
I have been with Home Instead for just over 5 years and have loved every minute of it. I am proud to work with a company who are different and strive for the best.
Sophie Jones- Head of Client Experience / Assistant Manager
My Nan was diagnosed with vascular dementia ten years ago, pushing me to take an interest in her condition as I didn't know much about it. This then inspired me to start caring in the community, which I very much enjoyed and found very rewarding. To me, the little things make a big difference to someone.
I completed my NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care in 2015 and worked my way up within Home Instead. I am passionate about the quality of care that is provided to our clients and strive to continually improve it.
Karen Robinson- Head of CAREGiver Experience
I have worked in the care sector for around 22 years. I have experience in residential homes, home care, private care and hospitals. Within these roles I have experienced hands on care, administration, scheduling and assessments.
I came to Home Instead as I liked how different they were to other companies and their ethos.
I am married with 5 children and 3 grandchildren. In my spare time I run a rescue for huskies.
Kate Webb - Administrator
I joined Home Instead in 2016 after working in health care admin and management previously. I wanted a change in career and after looking after my Father in his later years decided to enter into care work and became a CAREGiver. I then joined the office team in 2017 to utilise my previous skills.
Nikki Rhodes - Scheduler
I have worked in care for the last 7 years both as a CAREGiver and a coordinator in Malvern, I heard about Home Instead's great reputation so applied for the role of care coordinator. I enjoy getting to speak to the clients and CAREGivers which makes the role very rewarding helping everyone and making sure they're happy with the service.
In my spare time I enjoy going for walks with my family.
Jess Smith - Scheduler
My name is Jess. I’ve worked for Home Instead since July 2018. I started off as a CAREGiver, then moved into the office as a scheduler in November 2019. I’ve been working in the care sector for since 2012. My passion for care stemmed from helping and watching my gran suffer with Lung Cancer then later with Dementia. I saw how fantastically the health care professionals cared for my gran with such compassion and dignity and it inspired me to want to look after others as well as those who looked after my gran.
I live with my boyfriend, our 7 year old son and cat.
Claire Griffiths - Trainer
I have worked for Homestead for two and half years. Starting my journey here as a CAREGiver and then early 2016 stepping into the role of Trainer. My previous experience includes managing teams, training, recruitment and HR.
Seeing a client smile and allowing them to remain independent is so rewarding. And now, supporting CAREGivers on their journey with Home Instead by providing training is a real honour.
I live with my husband, daughter and 7 chickens. In my spare time I have a passion for hobby crafts, baking and music.
Bailey Wickens - Digital Marketing Apprentice
I joined Home Instead in October 2018 as a marketing apprentice, following the completion of my BTEC Business college course. After taking an interest in caring for my grandad and having a passion for marketing, I felt like this was the perfect role for me.
Katie Lee - Client Experience Support
After graduating with a degree in Biology, my passion for working with people took over and at first led me into the Hospitality sector. I was the manager of many high-turnover, multi-faceted businesses. I enjoyed the fast paced environment but in later years always felt like something was missing and wished to put my passion for people into something more rewarding; which led towards a career change into Care work, and a consequent move to Worcestershire.
I thoroughly researched all the care agencies out there (and there are a lot!) and found Home Instead to have by far the best reputation and attitude towards care in the community. I joined Home Instead Worcester several years ago now as a CAREGiver out in my local area, and have since worked my way up through the position of on-call supervisor to my current role in Client Experience Support. (But still take the opportunity to go and do care calls whenever I can)
I am dedicated to my job and enthusiastic about what we do here at Home Instead, I now love my vocation with a passion and every day I look forward to inspiring people that I will meet out in the community. My daughter and I live in Pershore just around the corner from my Mum & Dad, and a stones throw from where my grandparents were brought up.
Jane Davies - Area Team Leader
I've worked in various aspects of care for 16 years, working in nursing homes, learning & physical disabilities, home care and have with been with Home Instead for a little over 4 years.
In my spare time I like to relax with friends and family.
Sarah Martin - Area Team Leader
My career started as a beauty/holistic therapist, I then went on to teach vocational subjects in Further Education colleges and worked my up to Senior Management. Having worked at numerous colleges around the UK I was approached to become an International Examiner specifically Asia and South East Asia, this I did for 5 years.
My Mum passed away some years ago and I didn't know Home Instead existed at that time, I wished that my Mum could have had the opportunity to be cared for at home. It was when I returned back to Worcester from working as an International Examiner, I came across Home Instead by a number of coincidences. The services that I had envisaged for my Mum, was in Worcester, literally on my door step!
Immediately from stepping into the office of Home Instead I have never looked back, I decided to join Home Instead as a CAREGiver as I have a great passion for what Home Instead stands for. I have been with Home Instead for nearly 3 years now, I am now an Area Team Leader which is enabling me to use my skills from my previous career, such as promoting and driving quality services. Home Instead, truly is an amazing company to work for. The work I do now is the most rewarding I have ever done, the clients I have met are amazing and I have learnt so much about myself, furthermore the quality of the CAREGivers work that is carried out is truly humbling and it is evident in so many ways that we are constantly making a massive difference to someones life.
Mona Warr - Area Team Leader
Caregiving is my passion, more than it is a job, it is a blessing to make a difference in people's life on a daily basis, nothing more fulfilling. I am proud to say that I am a member of Home instead for the last 2 years!
I am currently busy with my NVQ in health and social care.
Before i found my calling at Home instead, I was a chef and have qualifications in nutrition and menu planning.
Sarah Hyde - Area Team Leader
I'm Sarah 43 years old and been with Home Instead for 4 and half years, 2 of those now as a team leader.
Before starting in the world of social care I had only really worked in retail no experience in caring for the elderly but home instead saw something in me and took me on and I've got to be honest it was the best career move I ever made, I have met some extremely interesting people, clients with stories to tell, its not just the mundane day to day care I give, I take them out go for walks, do crosswords and help them keep up with hobbies.
As for my colleagues well got to say I love them, they are not just colleagues they are friends and we support each other through thick and thin, Never have I worked for a company that is as concerned about caregivers welfare and mental wellbeing, as well as our clients.
Pauline Goodman- Networker
I have worked in care since 1982. My background is Learning Disabilities before moving into elderly care in 2014. I came to Home Instead in 2016. This was my first experience of supporting people in their own homes and I have found it extremely rewarding.
