Home Instead Wirral, Chester & South Liverpool proudly represented the North West at the prestigious 2025 Dementia Care Awards in London, earning a place as a double finalist.
This significant achievement highlights our commitment to excellence in dementia care and workforce development.
The franchise was shortlisted in two highly competitive categories: Dementia Trainer and Workforce Development and Dementia Care Employer (Community). These nominations are a direct reflection of our dedication to building a compassionate, expertly trained team and delivering exceptional, person-centred dementia care across our local communities.
Hosted by the leading sector publication, Care Talk, the awards celebrated best practice in dementia services nationwide. The ceremony was a truly special occasion, hosted by national treasure and dementia advocate Angela Rippon, who brought her signature warmth and recognition to a night dedicated to exceptional care.
“Being named finalists in two categories is a tremendous honour and a testament to our incredible team,” said Mary Costello-Smith, Head of Business Development at Home Instead Wirral, Chester & South Liverpool. “From our frontline care professionals to our training, scheduling, and community engagement teams—every person is united in one mission: to help people living with dementia lead independent, meaningful lives at home. This recognition reflects the real difference we’re making.”

While we didn’t take home the top prize on the night, being named finalists firmly places us among the UK’s most respected dementia care providers. This recognition celebrates the dedication of our team and the compassionate culture we have built.
“Great dementia care starts with great people,” said Rebecca Bradley, Group General Manager. “We are deeply proud of the culture we’ve built—one that values, supports, and empowers our team. That commitment shines through in the quality of care our clients receive every day.”
