Meet the Team Monday - Introducing Manjula

Meet our team here on the blog! One Monday per month, we'll introduce you to a member of our ever-growing team.

Our Marvellous Manjula

Have you met our wonderful Manjula yet? No…keep reading!

She has been with us for one year now and we feel so blessed to have her, she has such a caring heart and is always ready to help with anything or anyone.

Manjula graduated in her home country of India, with a Masters Degree in Engineering, she also lectured for a while at the same University, helping other students to do the same. She says that it was very structured and logical work, which she enjoyed.

Manjula’s husband was transferred, by his company, to the USA, she says of the experience “We didn’t really like it too much there” and shortly thereafter, their family was relocated to England…luckily for us! She says that what she loves most about The U.K. is that people are conscious of their health, they are punctual and systematic, methodical people, which suits her engineering brain very well!

Being a family orientated person, she was the perfect person to nurse her son back to health, when he became seriously ill in 2016 and was in hospital for almost two years! He is now thriving and and Uni, whilst her daughter is ready to sit her GCSE’s.

After that, Manjula says that it felt natural to move into a role of caring, as she felt it was something she could love too.

Manjula found us and applied. She says her training was fantastic and she really enjoyed it, but says that she struggled initially with some of her clients who had Dementia as she didn’t fully grasp that some of the things they did and said were not personal, but rather a part of their Dementia…she recalls one client who would tell her that some things had been stolen but had simply misplaced them.

These days she has her rota of clients whom she loves dearly and who love her in return…Recently, on a visit to a Garden Centre, she says that she was moved to tears when her client told her that she has never had a best friend and that she, Manjula, was in fact her best friend ever.

In a candid moment, Manjula told our office team that her clients “are part of her soul” and that her favourite part of any day is when she can make a client happy. How fabulous is that!

When she isn’t working, Manjula enjoys cooking, gardening and swimming…that is, however, when she’s not watching her crime thrillers!

Her motto for life is: “use your ears to really listen make real human connection”.

Manjula says that she feels immensely proud to be a part of the team and is so grateful to Anitra for taking her on and hugely grateful to Sam Parsons, Mike Warner and Nat Williams for always being there when she needs guidance.
