Home Instead are inviting the Ottershaw community to come together on Thursday April 6th meeting at 2pm a The Castle pub, Ottershaw for a charity fundraiser Wellness Walk & Holme Farm Talk.
Enjoy a leisurely walk with other locals through Ottershaw woodland to Woodham, visiting Holme Farm Community Workshop and Gardens where they will enjoy a talk from Christine who pioneered the project. The community hub will incorporate workshops, gardens and wildlife across 14 acres. There will be a multi-facility approach to health, wellbeing and community, and will provide a therapeutic environment in which people within North Surrey can socialise, learn and thrive. The project is still in its early stages, and it needs all the support it can get from the community to become a reality.
The event is organised by Home Instead, a local organisation that provides CQC outstanding care services for seniors in their own homes, and the event is to raise awareness and funds for Dementia Carers Support | Runnymede, a local charity that provides much-needed support for caregivers of people living with dementia. Dementia is a devastating condition that affects millions of people around the world, and it is especially challenging for caregivers who often struggle with emotional and physical exhaustion.
For participants who would like to join the walk are invited to meet up at 2pm at The Castle Pub on Brox Road in Ottershaw with around 1 hour walk time all up. But those who prefer to skip the walk and head straight to Holme Farm for the talk and complimentary refreshments can do so as well. The talk is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm. Walkers will then return to The Castle Pub to finish the walk.
The event is open to everyone, including clients, care providers, and members of the community. It is a free event, but donations are welcome and encouraged. We hope to make this event a success, and call on everyone to come together to support these important causes. The event also coincides with the NHS social prescribers wellness walk, which take place across the local area monthly.
Thank You x
