We couldn't let the Queen's Diamond Jubilee go by without a tea party for our clients. So after an evening of homemade cake baking, the staff at the Wimbledon and Kingston office, laid on a spread fit for the Queen!
We were delighted that so many of our clients were able to come to celebrate with us. With cucumber sandwiches, tea and a glass of fizz to toast her Royal Majesty, we hosted a Jubilee Quiz, to test everyone's knowledge of the Queen's 60 year reign.
We were particularly pleased to see our lovely Barbara who hasn't been out of her house since last year, apart from a spell in hospital! Barbara came with her husband and daughter and stayed until the very end. She told me that coming to our party had given her a new lease of life! We promised her that we would arrange for her to come to more events like this. Her husband Konrad, enjoyed it too, requesting that in future he would like someone to take him to the pub each week which we are now organising.
The party was attended by around half of the 50 strong CAREGiver team, who were all delighted to see their clients out of their home environments, enjoying the celebrations!
Since moving into larger offices on the ground floor of Adams House in New Malden, we have so much more accessible space for exactly this type of occasion.
In fact, we have had such lovely feedback from both Clients and CAREGivers, that we have decided to host a regular afternoon tea club for our clients!
