How old is old?

90 is the new 50
90 is the new 50
And at what age are you elderly?   It is difficult to know really, given that here at Home Instead we are having a Nonagenarian epidemic! Nonagenarians are those wonderful people living in their 90s. In the last fews months in and around Wimbledon and Kingston, we have taken on a huge number of clients living very well in their 90s.   We have Herbert and Connie - 99 and 96  - she's still mixing up homemade custard for Herb everyday. Pat, 96 who has trained to a high level in yoga and can still do the splits. And Felicia, 93, who asked me to get back to her via email and Len who skypes his family in Australia on his laptop.   All of these amazing clients have one thing in common, they struggle with the little things that could prevent them from being independent at home.   And that's where we come in. Bed changing, might be fine for yoga Pat but for Felicia and her bad back might be a step too far. Home instead look very carefully at the individual needs of each of our clients and provide continuity of care with one dedicated CAREGiver, helping with the little things a nonagenarian might struggle with.     Research tells us that 90 is the new 50. More and more products are created to make older people look and feel younger.   So with that in mind, us 40 something's are mere babes! Life is for living... Whatever your age!
