At Home Instead Wimbledon & Kingston, we know that no two clients are ever the same.

Everyone has their own routines, hobbies, preferences, and even their own ‘perfect way to make their cup of tea’. Just as each person lives their life differently, every client deserves a care plan designed around them, considering their preferences, medical needs, and the flexibility to adapt as those needs change.

That’s why we provide a wide range of specialist care services. So, whether you’re managing an existing condition or have recently received an unexpected diagnosis, we can help you stay safe, comfortable, and happy in your own home.

The Conditions We Support

We provide specialist care for a variety of conditions, including:

  • Parkinson’s: Support with mobility, medication, and daily routines.
  • Dementia & Alzheimer’s: Helping clients remain comfortable and safe at home while maintaining independence.
  • Cancer Care: Flexible support during treatment, from companionship to practical help.
  • Palliative Care: Compassionate end-of-life care that focuses on helping clients live with comfort and dignity.
  • Rehabilitation: Support after hospital stays at places such as Kingston Hospital, or following illness or surgery, to help clients regain independence.

For each condition, our Care Professionals receive specialised training, ensuring they can provide the right support, notice changes early, and respond appropriately.

Flexible Care That Adapts with You

Care needs can change over time, especially when working with progressive conditions, so we make sure our specialist care is flexible.

We can adapt care plans to match evolving needs, increasing support as required or transitioning to live-in care if needed. This ensures continuity, peace of mind, and consistent support for clients and their families.

We also work in tandem with your clinical teams to ensure you can remain in the comfort of your own space, whilst also receiving the medicine, nutritious meals, and extra rest you may need.

Our care is also great for keeping loved ones in the loop. After our visits, we always fill out a post-care update, so family members can ‘check in’ even if they live 100 miles away.

How Do We Help People Stay at Home With Dementia?

With the right level of support, many people living with dementia can continue to live safely and comfortably at home. Visiting care allows older adults to remain in familiar surroundings, while giving loved ones peace of mind that they are well supported.

In the earlier stages, especially, staying at home is often beneficial. Familiar surroundings can help to reduce anxiety, provide comfort, and give loved ones a sense of safety.

Our Care Professionals are specially trained to support those living with dementia, not only assisting with daily tasks but also recognising early signs of change and responding with reassurance and understanding.

Care can also include gentle outings within the local community, such as visits to Kingston Riverside or Canbury Gardens, helping support wellbeing through routine and recognition. We even host a local Love to Sing group, where older adults can take part in fun sing-alongs in a safe space.

We even have our dementia specialist, Dr Nerida Burnie, who families can consult with directly for advice. To find out more about how she supports both our clients and care professionals, read our blog.
