This is a brand new activity and social session which is being held at AFC Wimbledon's revamped Plough Lane grounds, that the club have finally returned to after leaving their original home in 1991.
This session will target people of aged 75 and over, to support both physical and mental wellbeing. Now, more than ever, being able to stay active and socialise is such an important part of life in this 'new normal' we are living in.
We aim to improve both these aspects by enjoy some sporting-focused reminiscence, quizzes and bingo, followed by some gentle exercise, including chair-based activities, boccia and indoor curling. A perfect opportunity to stay engaged and meet new people at the same time!
The sessions will be run by coach Allan Sellers, who has years of experience working with Merton Dementia Hub as well as Age UK and has a wealth of knowledge to ensure things are always fun, relevant and impactful.
The Active Ageing Club is due to launch on 20th January 2022, but please do contact Ellie at Home Instead on 020 8942 4137 or email [email protected] to register your interest.
