Overnight care provides you with peace of mind that someone is at hand should your loved one need help throughout the night.

We understand that someone who is elderly or unwell may not feel comfortable being on their own during the night. They may need help throughout the night with managing their medication, changing position or having a toilet break for example. Whether someone is managing a physical disability or living with dementia (whereby they may feel isolated and confused) we can support them with overnight care.

Our night care is based upon the needs of the individual, allowing for a more personalised approach to care. All of our Care professionals are compassionate, kind and highly-trained individuals who have their clients’ respect and wellbeing at the forefront of their minds.

Different Types of Night Care

When it comes to overnight care, there are four options for you to choose from;

  1. Sleeping Night
  2. Waking Night
  3. Sitting Service
  4. Night Time Dementia Care

Sleeping Night Care

Sleeping night care is when a Care professional will sleep over in your loved ones home. This provides them with the safety and security that someone is at hand should the need for help arise.

Sleeping night care is a good option for those who don’t require a lot of supervision throughout the night but would feel more comfortable and safe if a Care professional was there with them.

This type of care allows people to have a higher quality of sleep and know that they can have intermittent support if they need it.

Waking Night Care

Waking night care is when a Care professional is on duty in the home to provide any help or support needed throughout the night.

This is a good option if your loved one will need help during the night with visits to the bathroom, medication management, position changing, monitoring, personal care or any other assistance that is needed throughout the night.

It helps provide peace of mind knowing a Care professional is there should your loved one wake up disoriented, in pain or in need of help.

Sitting Service Night Care

Sitting service night care is when a Care professional comes to the home to keep your loved one company and to provide respite for the person who has been providing care.

This is a good option if you or a family member or friend need respite throughout the night if you have been providing care throughout the day.

It’s a great opportunity to give your loved one something to look forward to knowing a Care professional will be there to keep them company and provide help should they need it.

Night-time Dementia Care

For those with dementia, waking during the night can be an unpleasant experience as they may feel disorientated or scared. Our Care professionals are highly-trained dementia care specialists who can help your loved one throughout the night.

Care professionals will help to adapt the nighttime care environment to help reduce confusion, stress and disorientation, for example, by having suitable lighting and accessibility in place.

Assistive technology can also be introduced such as sensor mats to enable prompt responses to help keep any difficulties or distress to a minimum.
