Outstanding Dementia Care Provided at Home

Keeping Your Loved One Happy, Safe and Shielded

We provide outstanding dementia care to support people with dementia to live a happy, safe and shielded life in the comfort of their home.

Whether you live in Westminster, Pimlico, Marylebone, St John's Wood, Barbican or any of our surrounding areas in Central London, we have local CAREGivers available to support you and your loved one.

We understand that watching someone close have difficulties with dementia can be an upsetting and concerning experience. Naturally, we want to help and assist anyone we see having difficulties, but without the right help and information, it can become a little overwhelming as to where to start first.

With conditions such as dementia, it can be challenging to understand what is happening, and as dementia progresses, you may notice all sorts of changes in your loved one's behaviour.

Things such as memory loss, changes in actions, decline in socialising or activities, difficulties staying nourished, hydrated and keeping healthy.

Although there are common symptoms, dementia affects everyone differently and being a full-time carer can sometimes be very challenging.

It's common for family or friends who are carers to feel guilty for wanting to enjoy their life outside of the role of being a carer, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Additional support from CAREGivers enables you and your loved one to enjoy a higher quality of life.

What is Dementia Care at Home

Dementia Care at Home is where a CAREGiver comes to house to provide care and support for someone who is living with dementia. It enables people with dementia to stay settled and safe at home in comfortable and familiar surroundings.

Activities our CAREGivers help with could include:

  • Helping the person stay calm and oriented in their home.
  • Making dressing and personal care easier.
  • Talking and communicating with the person.
  • Helping with memory loss.
  • Managing behaviour and sleeping problems.
  • Encouraging activities that are both stimulating and enjoyable.

Finding The Right Dementia Care

We understand that finding the right care for your loved one can become quite an overwhelming experience; that's why we're here to help.

Home Instead Westminster is a little different to other care providers, we take the time to understand both you and the person with dementia and build a plan around your requirements.

All of our care is person-centred. This means that care is based on the needs of the individual rather than the service.

We get to know exactly what is required and carefully match a CAREGiver with your loved one to ensure everyone is happy and that they get the best dementia care possible.

Matching our CAREGivers with our clients has had an evident effect on improving the quality of life and health outcomes for individuals living with dementia.

Our CAREGivers Are Dementia Home Care Specialists

Home Instead created a unique dementia training programme that is accredited by City & Guilds.

Once CAREGivers complete this course, they are equipped with a good foundation of knowledge, methods and strategies, allowing them to provide the highest quality of care to anyone living with dementia, as well as providing solutions and seeking out further advice as and when required.

Having a CAREGiver is like having a true companion, someone you can completely trust that will go above and beyond to help your loved one communicate better, increase their confidence, keep active and stay safe and shielded at home for as long as possible.
