Meet the team

Our CAREGivers

Our team of CAREGivers share our passion to deliver the highest quality care to the people who call upon us for the services we provide.

They are carefully selected for their caring and compassionate nature, together with their desire to improve the quality of life for all of our clients.

We always make sure that the CAREGiver remains consistent so that a trust and friendship may develop.

Now that you have found Home Instead, there is no need to look any further because we are absolutely confident that you will be delighted with the quality of service you receive.

Fred Mairet - Owner

Since Home Instead gave me the opportunity to join their team of owners and manage the office in Westminster and the city of London, I have been really touched seeing up close and personal what a difference that quality care can make to people's lives.  I love working in our community and I am very proud of the service that we are delivering.  The heart of our business is the team of wonderful CAREGivers who, like me, truly want to make a difference.

Prior to joining Home Instead, I worked in both the voluntary sector and the private sector here in London and overseas holding various Human Resources management positions and successfully led large teams of HR professionals in the UK and across Europe.

Emma Blount

Emma - Care Manager

Emma started with Home Instead Westminster as a CAREGiver and fit well with the ethos of the organisation, she quickly became the Deputy Care Manager and is now the Care Manager for Home Instead Westminster and City of London. All of the care operations for Home Instead Westminster are run by Emma and she spends most of her time making sure that the clients and CAREGiver's are supported and happy.

Emma is passionate about care management and is an advocate for person centered, holistic care for people who need support in their own home. She is excellent at assessing peoples needs and matching the right CAREGiver.

She has recently been a part of a project with the Victoria and Albert Museum to find ways to make the Museum more Dementia friendly and to make it more accessible for our CAREGivers, as well as being part of other projects including being a Dementia Champion and taking part in, and organising fundraising events to support Dementia UK.

Emma is a qualified Trainer for the Care Certificate and has carried out extensive training in Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding & DoLs.

Soraia - Care Supervisor

Soraia joined the Home Instead family with a wealth of knowledge in care, she worked mainly with children in a hospital setting more recently but has experience with adults and senior generations previously.

She has rediscovered her passion, working with the elderly and has been such a valuable member of the team since she joined. Clients always say how caring and loving she is.

Soraia loves dance and healthy eating and can speak fluent Portuguese!

Vanessa - Care Supervisor

Vanessa joined Home Instead with more than eight years’ experience supporting older people in their own homes. She worked together with Home Instead CAREGivers in her previous role as a live-in carer in a small town. She joined Home Instead Westminster as she particularly liked the ethos.

Vanessa always finds ways to improve her clients’ day. Vanessa builds meaningful relationships with all her clients and provides exemplary person-centred care for each individual. Vanessa has become a support for her colleagues to give and advice and someone to speak to.

Vanessa is a keen photographer. She enjoys capturing portraits, as well as street art. When she is home she enjoys cooking and baking for friends. She likes being outside, walking and roller-skating everywhere, come rain or shine. As she says; ‘being Welsh, I do not mind getting wet’.
