Family Carer Dementia Workshops, come back soon for the next release of dates early in 2024

Home Instead are pleased to offer a series of FREE workshops for those living with, or supporting, a loved one living with Dementia

With over 13 years experience in supporting both individuals living independently with Dementia, as well as working with families and their support networks, both on a practical and emotional level, local homecare organisation Home Instead truly understand and know the challenges that family carers face.

Starting In October, Home Instead are running a series of three, two-hour workshops at our second office at Weston Park. The workshops are aimed at those living with, or supporting a loved one, who is living with Dementia..

The programme is a combination of information, practical advice and guidance, as well as an opportunity to be with others who are in the same situation. The workshops will cover the following areas

  • Understanding Dementia – An overview of the different types of dementia.
  • Capturing Life’s Journey – Identifying the values, experiences, and expectations of their loved one.
  • Techniques to manage behaviour – Practical examples and guidance.
  • Activities to encourage engagement – Living in the moment all achievements, no matter how small they may appear to be.
