Allocated Carers have provided consistently supportive care & respond empathetically to needs. The birthday visit is a thoughtful gesture particularly for clients who may not have friends or family able to visit.

The assessment programme is excellent, it addresses the holistic needs of the client, in this way issues do not get overlooked, even small issues. I have a background in nursing and cannot fault the care plans that have been set up with me, for me. My husband’s health started to deteriorate and my daughters, and I immediately sort Home Instead assessment and help for him also. The communication network with the office, the care professionals, and the clients is par excellence. Thorough communication is key to everything. The introduction of carers/ new carers is vital to the smooth running of the visit plans. Plans are continuingly monitored and this is outstanding with home instead. I cannot recommended home instead highly enough, they go above and beyond what you need.

The team from Home Instead have all been consistently professional, caring and extremely helpfully in every way. They provide a regular time slot and normally with the same carers each week which helps keep continuity for us and a real comfort for my mum.

We used Home Instead when we needed care for my Father and were very impressed. They took time to sort what he needed and all staff he had were fantastic and office staff were great.

When my Mother needed care we contacted Home Instead again to arrange care for her. Once again everyone we have dealt with has been fantastic and she always feels valued and well cared for. All staff at Home Instead listen to what is required and have always been caring and professional.

We also have regular reviews and excellent communication with our very supportive care coordinator, who keeps the family updated on any concerns and offers helpful advice on available resources. As a result, we feel very confident that Mum is receiving excellent care at home—care that can adapt to the changes that come with ageing and the gradual loss of memory.

The care provided was absolutely amazing and worth every penny knowing that mum was in safe hands. All mum’s carers were friendly, kind and caring and treated her with respect and dignity. The live-in carers were absolutely exceptional as was mum’s end of life care.

My family and I are absolutely delighted with the care provided by Home Instead for my 86yr old father. The carers are kind and considerate and go the extra mile to ensure my dad’s comfort and safety. Communication between Home Instead and ourselves is excellent and the daily update on the carers visits via the app is very reassuring and thorough.

They have supported my friend emotionally, physically and provide a psychological boost to her with each visit. Nothing seems too much trouble and they ‘think outside the box’ for resolutions, offer advice when necessary and will accommodate requests if they can. The office staff communicate regularly and are friendly and approachable. I cannot praise the care team enough, their efforts, companionship and time ensure that my friend can stay in her own home.

After a professional working life and twenty years of retirement living on my own, they are introducing me painlessly to accepting help when I need it. They are well organised and practical so one feels safe and they have a very friendly ‘can do’ approach to whatever is asked of them, an approach that appears to be consistent throughout a varied team of staff and Care Professionals which suggests careful recruitment and proper attention given to training.

We have been using Home instead to provide help at home for my mother for about 6 months and have been very pleased with the service they have provided. They have been very attentive and flexible and the staff always pleasant and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Home Instead provided a caring, reliable and proactive service. The person receiving their care was at the forefront of everything they did to ensure a safe and comfortable environment within the house. When circumstances dictated, they went above and beyond agreed service levels even including hospital visits. The App meant that from a distance I was aware of all the circumstances giving me peace of mind that everything necessary was being done.

The Care Professionals are all sensitive, caring and hard working. Behind the scenes organisation is good. If there are any expenses incurred, you have a very clear system in place which is very helpful. I now rely on the Care Professionals for many tasks that have become too difficult for me, and the all undertake them all willingly and cheerfully.

It’s excellent that there is a minimum of 1 hour per visit so no rush and they don’t wear uniforms which is much more personal. Probably the most useful aspect about this company is the wide variety of things they can do for your relative – not just personal care. They also use an app which relatives can put on their phone and they get daily updates from Care Professionals.

Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset) has been caring for my parents for almost 3 years, first for my mum and now for my dad. The care they have provided has been excellent and has ensured that my parents could remain in their home as their health has deteriorated. We speak very highly of them. My sister was diagnosed with dementia in May 2021. At that time she said she wanted to stay in her own home for as long as she could. She also has type 2 diabetes and is not very mobile. There was also very few friends and family who could help and care for her.
As my sister would need more help as time went by I contacted Home Instead. I had had excellent personal recommendations for this company and was impressed by their reviews. They have been helping me now with my sister since September 2022. We started with 2 hours a week which has now increased to 3 hours.
The Home Instead carers have been excellent with my sister, she can be a little difficult at times due to her dementia and her character. The carers are punctual, there is good communication between us and they offer my sister much kindness, companionship and help. Communication with the Home Instead office is also very good. I highly recommend them.

Home Instead Taunton looked after Mum for over 4 years after Dad passed away. Mum has dementia and with her amazing team of Care Professionals, she was able to spend those years safely still at home prior to moving to her care home. The team provided professional, expert and knowledgeable care at every point and every day for Mum. We knew she was in safe and caring hands. Amongst other things, Mum loved her trips to the dementia-friendly activity sessions on Fridays – going with one of the team to enjoy music and dance. Home Instead were able to tailor the visits for Mum as her needs increased over the years and this allowed us to keep Mum in her own home where she was happy and all was familiar. I would absolutely recommend Home Instead if anyone is looking for care for themselves or a loved one. High standards from caring, compassionate caregivers and support from the office team meant that Mum was so well looked after and we as a family felt the support extended to us always. Home Instead in Taunton have been quite simply outstanding in their support of my parents over the last 7 years. Initially providing support for my mother who was living with dementia, Home Instead knew exactly how to make life easier for my father and more rewarding for my mother. This allowed the family to create many treasured memories.
Over the last 3 years, my father has been able to live independently at home (despite increasing mobility issues) much longer than I had thought possible. There is no doubt that my father was able to rely totally on Home Instead and he would often tell me that he could not have lived at home without their incredible care and compassion. In the middle of 2023, my sisters and I were looking to raise the standard of care for my 93-year-old father. We wanted an organization that shared our values and commitment to enable him to continue living in the family home for as long as possible. He has lived on his own for over 20 years and has built an established relationship with the community and didn’t want to upset the balance of caring friends, willing helpers, and committed care providers. We reviewed many organizations, and settled on Home Instead, based in Taunton. They were interested in my Father, his life, and his experiences and came across as professional and well-run, communicative, and prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that everything my Father needed and wanted was provided for.
They have consistently delivered everything we could have asked them for, and have no hesitation in recommending the care professional and his team to any prospective family looking to do the same.

My Aunt has used the services of Home Instead for many years, gradually needing increases in levels of support and frequency of daily visits, as a result of which she has been able to continue living independently in her own home, as she preferred, into her mid-nineties, up to point where residential care has now become a necessary alternative. The various members of the Home Instead team have not only provided the care she required but also companionship and friendship in their contact with her. The administration staff have also been most helpful in dealings with the family. The family lives some distance away, and knowing that our Aunt was being well cared for has been reassuring.

From the moment I reached out to them, I was impressed by their efficiency, friendliness, and professionalism. One of my main concerns was finding a care service that could provide a small team of carers who would not only be skilled in their work but also make my client feel comfortable and at ease. Home Instead exceeded my expectations in this regard. Within just a few days, the Manager and his team were able to build a strong rapport with my client. They were incredibly friendly and compassionate, which helped create a positive and nurturing environment. My client felt safe and supported, which was a huge relief for the family. My mum has been having support from Home Instead for a few years now. It’s important to Mum to be at home, all of her carers are excellent friendly people I can’t rate them highly enough. Nothing is too much trouble and her staff team remain stable with very little change unless of course someone leaves. All new staff are introduced to Mum prior to their visit, Mum finds this a bit strange but understands that they need to meet her before they start working with her. Staff visit every day at the same time and come as the rota states with very few staff changes unless we are notified before. We have had experience with other providers but they do not match what we receive from Home Instead.

Just want to pay a huge thank you to you for juggling everything around in order to arrange for Katy to accompany M (and drive) to London for his surgery. I know it must have caused a lot of extra work and planning on your part. I am grateful to you both. Thank you so very much. Your Kindness and caring take a huge weight off my shoulders.

Emma has been very accommodating and she has worked with the scheduling team to put the ad hoc extra support where needed. She has a lovely manner with M and has been a breath of fresh air through what has been and continues to be a very emotional time. – Emma had both FM and MN which took an emotional toll with both, but Emma had done really well with both of them.

Very happy with the service provided by Home Instead. They are very reliable, helpful and fulfil my needs during visits. Would recommend them to anyone. Very flexible with the visits too as some weeks I might need to change the day.
