September has been a wonderful month here at Home Instead Taunton & West Somerset, filled with moments that truly reflect what our community stands for — care and connection.
Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia — and this September, our team joined the global movement to raise awareness and understanding.
Throughout the month, we shared advice, stories, and tips to help families support loved ones living with dementia. By encouraging open conversations and offering practical guidance, we aim to break down stigma and help more people feel supported in their journey.

In September, we were thrilled to release the latest edition of our What’s on Where (WoW) Guide — a free, local resource packed with activities, events, and community groups for older adults across Taunton, Wellington, and the surrounding areas.
Whether you’re looking for a friendly coffee morning, gentle exercise class, or social group, the WoW Guide helps you find something nearby to enjoy and stay connected.

September also gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate our amazing Care Professionals during Professional Care Workers’ Week.
Their kindness, reliability, and dedication make a real difference every day — helping clients live safely and happily in their own homes. We couldn’t be prouder of our team’s ongoing commitment to providing outstanding care and support across Taunton, Wellington, and the surrounding areas.
Each and every one of our Care Pros deserves a huge thank you for the warmth and professionalism they bring to their roles. You are the heart of Home Instead!

Falls are one of the leading causes of injury among older adults, but many are preventable. During Falls Awareness Week, we shared helpful information and simple steps to stay steady and confident at home.
From improving lighting and decluttering walkways to regular gentle exercise — small changes can have a big impact on safety and independence.
As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping older adults safe at home, our team continues to offer advice and signposting to local resources that help reduce fall risks. Together, we can make home a safer place for everyone.
This month, we celebrated several special birthdays — including those of our wonderful clients, Care Professionals, and office team members.
A very special mention goes to our lovely client GK, who turned 94! It was a joy to share in the celebrations and see the smiles that came with the thoughtful messages, cakes, and visits.
Every milestone is a reminder of the incredible people who make up our Home Instead family — and we’re so grateful to be part of these moments.
A big thank you to everyone — our clients, families, Care Professionals, and community partners — for making September such a meaningful month.
Together, we continue to build a community where older adults can live well, feel connected, and truly thrive at home.
