Hicks in Brynhyfrd opened just 7 years ago, and since has proved very popular option, and even made the shortlist of the National Fish & Chip Awards in 2019! With ample parking to the side, and a modern 41-seater dining room, Hicks makes for a great venue to sit down and relax, while your tea is served. Receiving an impressive 4.5 stars on Google, their reviews rave about the freshly cooked chicken, burgers, and cod, and the thick cut chips. You just have to try them. Situated just off the Mumbles Road, Dick Barton’s has become a staple to it’s loyal customers in the West Cross area. Serving very generous portions of fresh produce, at very reasonable prices, Dick Bartons is a great pit stop should you be off to Mumbles for the day. Customers recommend trying out their cheeseburgers, as they are deemed ‘the best’ around. There may not be inside seating, but there is a lovely common out front, looking over the beautiful Swansea Bay where you can enjoy dining alfresco. What could be better, right?

5. Theo’s (Mount Pleasant)

Smack-bang in the middle of Swansea, Theo’s chip shop is up there with the best. With 30 impressive Facebook reviews, they are the proud recipient of a 4.9-star rating. Their fresh, modern, décor makes for an inviting venue, with indoor seating available as well as a takeaway option. Theo’s extensive menu covers all the British favourites, as well as tasty new options like popcorn chicken, mozzarella sticks, and Quorn nuggets!
