Supporting carers through stronger community partnerships in Clent

Home Instead Strengthens Community Partnerships at Clent Connect Carers' Event
Home Instead Hagley was delighted to take part in a recent Carers’ Event at Clent Connect, a thriving community enterprise dedicated to bringing people together, reducing isolation and supporting local residents across Clent, Hagley and the surrounding Worcestershire area.Owner Peter Bath attended the event, which brought together organisations committed to supporting older people, family carers and those living with dementia. Representatives included Age UK, Daybreakers Dementia Club, Social Prescribers, Act on Energy, Worcestershire Libraries, Worcestershire Carers’ Association and the Bromsgrove Primary Care Network.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen partnerships with other organisations supporting older adults while helping local people discover the wide range of services available within the community. Working together in this way helps ensure that older people and their families can access the right support at the right time.
Throughout the day, Peter spoke with many local residents who were particularly interested in Home Instead’s community wellbeing initiatives. Visitors were keen to learn more about our Young at Heart Singing Group, which helps reduce loneliness through music and friendship, our Move it or Lose it gentle exercise classes that encourage older adults to stay active and independent, and Home Instead’s Carers’ Library, a growing collection of books providing practical advice and reassurance for family carers, people living with dementia, Parkinson’s disease and other age-related conditions, as well as resources to help children understand dementia.
