Sadie delivers Premier League care

A local CAREGiver, who works for at home care provider, Home Instead Senior Care in Stockport, took one of her clients on a dream day out, to the famous ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

Sadie Akhtar from Offerton recently started working for the local company and was matched with Peter, who has learning disabilities, because they share a love for Manchester United.

An Old Trafford season ticket holder, Sadie provides companionship to Peter, visiting him in Stockport where he lives. Knowing that Peter loves everything to do with Manchester United, she decided to take him to the Theatre of Dreams to do the official Old Trafford Tour.

Picking up the story, Sadie said, “Peter is a real football fanatic and a great supporter of The Reds. We had the most amazing day. It started on our drive to the stadium as Peter had brought some CDs and we sang our way to Old Trafford.

“We both enjoyed every minute of the Tour and Peter kept thanking me which was lovely.

“We finished our trip in the Manchester United store, both stocking up on a few supporter essentials!”

Peter lives in supported accommodation. The team who work with him there were full of praise for Sadie’s efforts, saying, “Sadie is brilliant with Peter. When he returned from the day out he could not stop talking about it and telling everyone what a great time he had.”

Home Instead provides care and support to people living in the local community so they can remain living independently for longer than would otherwise be possible. The company’s CAREGivers are recruited for their caring and compassionate natures and care packages are bespoke and created around the needs of individual clients.
