As part of their on-going recognition of the fantastic work their CAREGivers do out in the community, home care company Home Instead Senior Care in Stockport awarded Gill Hinchcliffe the 'Making a Difference' award for April. In recognising Gill, Michele Bushell, Care Manager said: “We have noticed that Gill enhances the life of all the clients she supports, but in this instance she has gone above and beyond the call of duty.”

Gill has been working with a client who has fallen upon financial hardship, and due to this had limited funds to manage her day to day living. She did not have much food in and was not sure when she could purchase any more shopping. Gill took it upon herself to go the local food bank and arrange for a food parcel to be put together and donated to the client she was supporting. This not only helped the client but she was really touched and moved by this. Gill has gone above and beyond the call of duty and has shown her dedication and commitment to CAREGiving.

Presenting the award, Staff Coordinator Mark Bushell commented: “At Home Instead we are trying to improve the quality of life for our clients. I continually hear great things from the clients Gill supports - she really does make a difference to people’s lives.”
