A poem by Mary Burns (86 years old!)

Mary has been a Client of Home Instead for over 3 years and wanted to share a poem she has written about herself and her dementia.

I’ve got to quieten my thoughts

They race around night and day

They stop me from sleeping

And I feel my brain leaping

With ideas that won’t go away

When I feel that I’ve failed

And gone off the rails

With ideas I cannot express

I want to stop trying and keep applying

My talents but worrying less
