Companionship is at the heart of everything we do at Home Instead South Norfolk and East Suffolk. Our companionship visits are unhurried, giving us quality time to get to know each client whilst helping with everyday needs. During your visits, our Care Professionals do far more than basic tasks. They notice if someone’s feeling under the weather, check the fridge is properly stocked, help with light housekeeping, and support clients to keep up important connections outside the home. We fully employ our team, carefully selecting kindhearted, local people with naturally caring personalities who bring genuine warmth to every visit.

What makes our companionship care different is our genuine focus on the whole person, not just tasks to be completed. Our one-hour minimum visits mean we’re never rushing, always attentive to small changes that might indicate a larger concern. Care Professionals don’t wear uniforms, creating a more natural, dignified experience that feels like spending time with a friend or loved one. This approach is particularly valued when accompanying clients to local places. There’s no awkwardness or stigma – just two people enjoying time together. We believe in supporting independence by doing things with clients rather than for them, boosting confidence and bringing reassurance to the wider family, too.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.

A typical companionship visit might begin with helping choose suitable clothes for the weather and perhaps some light housekeeping while chatting about local news. The visit might continue with a trip toOld Buckenham Aerodrome to see the classic planes and cars, or helping attend a medical appointment with dignity and support. For many clients, these outings rebuild confidence they’d started to lose. Our Care Professionals are trained to observe subtle changes; like unopened post piling up, difficulty managing medications, or changes in mobility. As care needs evolve, so do our care plans.
