CARE – Changing Ageing through Research and Education
At Home Instead, our mission is to enhance the lives of older people and their families. Our work at Home Instead can make a real difference to the lives of clients and people who use our services. Our City & Guilds Assured training programme has been created exclusively for the Home Instead network, with advice from the University of Bradford Centre for Applied Dementia Studies and focuses on caring for the whole person and their experiences of living with dementia.
‘Having competed my qualification December 2014, it has been a pleasure ensuring our care professionals are competent and confident delivering care to our clients. I am always heartened by the warmth, care and compassion our care professionals display during training sessions. I have always found learners to be enthusiastic and I am encouraged when receiving positive feedback from care professionals that have gone on to use the tools the robust training provides to overcome challenges and reach positive outcomes with their clients.’
Becky – Care Manager
We are committed to providing personalised training and on-going support so that our care professionals are empowered in recognising that each person with dementia is an individual and to have more confidence when working with a diverse group of individual people living with dementia.
CARE – Changing Ageing through Research and Education
“The dementia training was very informative, interesting and enjoyable. The time went by so fast. My biggest takeaway from the training was the ‘book case analogy’. I also have a better understanding of the different types of dementia and how they affect people differently. Since completing the training I have noticed in the care that I provide that I break tasks down into simple steps”.
