Celebrating National Carers Week

It is National Carers Week this week, which is a time to celebrate the invaluable contributions of carers.

At Home Instead in South Manchester, we understand the dedication and compassion that our carers bring to their roles every day.

Carers play a critical role in the lives of those they support. They provide not only essential daily care but also companionship and emotional support. Our carers help with tasks such as personal care, medication management, meal preparation, and mobility assistance. Beyond these practical duties, they also offer friendship and emotional comfort, ensuring that their clients feel valued and supported.

At Home Instead, we are proud of our team of dedicated carers. One such carer, Mehwish, has been with us for over three years. She has formed a deep bond with her clients and has received some lovely compliments; one from our Trainer at Home Instead, Karen, who said how well Mehwish has supported her clients to maintain their independence. Mehwish’s story is just one of many that highlights the profound impact our carers have on the lives of those they care for.

Wonderful reviews

One of our reviews on homecare.com shows the wonderful work of our carers, which says: “My father has been a client of Home Instead for over a year now. It has been very important for him to have care professionals visit whom he knows and trusts. Home Instead always manages to have somebody he already knows, and who knows him.

His main care pro takes time to understand how he is feeling and is very aware of his mental health as well as routine physical needs. If she has concerns they are elevated and if thought important enough Home Instead (the manager) gets in touch.

Having Home Instead of looking after Dad has meant that my brother and I have been able to spend our visits as valuable family time, instead of carrying out home tasks and “interrogation” to make sure his needs are being met. I am sure that employing Home Instead has improved Dad’s quality of life and means he can remain independent in his own home with an excellent quality of life.”
