One of our Community Angels, Jill, went on a wonderful ‘Walk for all’ walk run by the lovely Feleena. They are on every Tuesday across the Arnside & Silverdale area. They are easy guided walks aimed at people living with dementia and their carers. The walk is open to anyone who would like the support of a very friendly group to discover the beautiful landscape, wildlife and culture of this area of outstanding natural beauty. The walks are around an hour with an option of going to a cafe for a chat and a cuppa afterwards and also cater for those with wheelchairs and mobility aids. There were over 30 people on the walk yesterday and they were split into three groups, according to ability. There are a lot of lovely volunteers, so there is great support and a great social atmosphere.
The next walk is at Silverdale on 1st Nov, they will be meeting at 10am at The Silverdale Hotel, Shore Road, Silverdale, LA5 0TP
