Spreading Festive Cheer Across South Lakes

This December, the Home Instead South Lakes team were delighted to bring festive cheer to our local community through our annual Be A Santa Campaign, and what an incredible response we received.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our community, we collected around 300 gifts. Some of these donations were thoughtfully made up into 10 festive hampers, packed full of treats and essentials, while the remaining gifts were delivered individually, allowing us to spread joy even further and reach as many people as possible during the festive season.

Our Engagement Coordinator, Andrea, alongside the lovely Rachel, Community Champion at Morrisons Kendal, had the pleasure of delivering the Be A Santa gifts and hampers, with fantastic support from Kendal Fire Station 🚒🎅. Together, they visited local organisations and groups, sharing smiles, kindness and festive spirit along the way.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported the campaign. A huge thank you to:
Dave Shepherd from Express Plumbing Supplies (EPS) for their generous donations
Sedgwick and Crosscrake Scouts for dropping by with gifts
One of our wonderful Care Professionals, Santie, for contributing to the campaign
Morrisons Kendal, for joining forces with us and helping to collect donations from the local community
Your generosity has been truly heart-warming and has helped make a real difference this Christmas.

Thanks to the nominations from members of the public, we were able to deliver 10 festive hampers, along with many individual gifts, to organisations across South Lakes, including:
Sandgate School, Kendal
Maudes Meadow – NHS (Westmorland and Furness Council)
Each nomination helped ensure our gifts reached the people and places that matter most to our community.

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, nominated an organisation, shared our campaign, or helped collect and deliver gifts. Your kindness has helped spread festive cheer to people across South Lakes and shown just how powerful community spirit can be.
From all of us at Home Instead South Lakes, thank you for helping us make Christmas a little brighter.
