At Home Instead South Cheshire, we are proud to support Dementia Action Week 2025, a nationwide initiative aimed at raising awareness, reducing stigma, and offering support to those living with Dementia and their families. This year, we’re excited to be involved in a number of fantastic community events taking place through the week. From the Thursday Club and other local organisations, below is just a small selection of what’s on offer.
Whether you’re a caregiver, a family member, or simply want to learn more about Dementia, these events are a great opportunity to connect, share, and support each other.
The Chatty Bench in Nantwich Town Square
Monday – Friday 11am – 2pm
Come along to the Chatty Bench in Nantwich Town Square for a friendly chat with a Dementia Friend. You can also pick up a free information pack filled with helpful resources.
We’ll be supporting the Chatty Bench on Thursday, so pop down to say hello and have a chat with our Home Instead team.
Thursday Club Coffee Morning with the Funky Choir
Thursday 22nd May 10.30am – 12.00pm St Mary’s Church Hall
Join the Thursday Club in Nantwich for a special coffee morning featuring a lively performance from the much loved Funky Choir. It’s a wonderful chance to relax, connect, and enjoy some uplifting music.
Afternoon Club with Elworth Silver Brass Band
Wednesday 21st May 1.00pm St Mary’s Caritas Centre
The Afternoon Club is hosting the Elworth Silver Brass Band for a musical afternoon to remember. Bring a friend and enjoy the tunes in good company.
Chatty Community Stand – Crewe Market Hall
Friday 23rd May 11am – 2pm
Come and visit the Chatty Community Stand in Crewe Market Hall, where you can meet local Dementia Champions, ask questions, and collect helpful resources.
Saturday 24th May from 8.45am
This family-friendly fun run is taking place in support of Dementia Action Week. Look out for the Thursday Club’s stand where you can learn more about Dementia-friendly initiatives in our community.
The Dementia Bus – Home Instead South Cheshire
Thursday 29th May 10am – 3pm
We’re proud to be hosting our own Dementia Bus event to give the public a powerful insight into the daily experiences of people living with Dementia. This immersive experience helps raise awareness and understanding, a must for caregivers, families and professionals alike. For more details visit our blog.
