Local home care company, Home Instead Solihull, have brought some sunshine to their elderly clients and caregivers by providing sunflower seeds which they enjoyed growing toge
After what has been a difficult year for so many people, especially for aging adults, the home care company wanted to bring some cheer and brightness to their client’s days. They decided to launch a sunflower growing competition with the aim to get clients out in their gardens with their caregivers, enjoying nature and a new activity, whilst also spreading some joy and happiness.
Aimee Facer, Registered Manager at Home Instead Solihull, comments: “Launching a sunflower competition brought so much joy to our clients and caregivers, as they watched them grow and develop, as well as admiring them once they had bloomed!
“We love bringing smiles and happiness to our clients and wanted to do something that could be enjoyed throughout the summer. The competition was a great success, with our wonderful client Doreen growing the tallest sunflower!”
Doreen commented: “It was great fun growing the sunflowers with the help of my caregiver. I thought my sunflower grew wonderfully, and I was delighted to hear that it was the tallest! It is a bright and happy addition to my garden which makes me smile every time I look at it.”
