The event brought together a range of expert organisations, all dedicated to helping people manage the increasing costs of daily life.Expert Support Providers

A heartfelt thank you to the organisations who joined us on the day:

  • Marches Energy – offering invaluable tips to reduce energy consumption and lower bills.
  • Just Credit Union – providing advice on savings and affordable loans.
  • Connexus – supporting housing-related queries and energy-saving measures.
  • Craven Arms Food Bank – a vital resource for families and individuals in need.
  • Barclays Bank – delivering financial advice and CV-building support for jobseekers.
  • Severn Trent – guiding attendees on water-saving techniques and schemes.
  • Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) – offering expert advice on benefits and support entitlements.
  • Shropshire County Council Community Outreach and Wellbeing – promoting health and well-being services while offering local outreach and support.

The morning was packed with practical advice and real-life impact. We were delighted to hear about several success stories, including:

  • One visitor saving an incredible £300 on their utility bill, thanks to advice from Marches Energy.
  • Another visitor discovering they could save £120 by switching providers.
  • Plenty of innovative tips shared on economising heating and making homes more energy efficient.

It wasn’t just about saving money. A health check offered on-site prompted one attendee to visit their GP immediately after discovering high blood pressure, a potentially life-saving outcome.

Meanwhile, Barclays Bank stepped in to help a visitor recently made redundant by improving their CV and job application skills, offering renewed confidence and hope.

Events like these remind us of the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together. Whether it’s finding ways to save, managing financial challenges, or improving health and well-being, the advice and resources provided on the day were invaluable.

We’d like to thank everyone who attended and the providers who generously gave their time and expertise. The connections made and advice shared will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on those who joined us.

Stay tuned for future events and initiatives, and remember—we’re here to support our community every step of the way. Together, we can navigate these challenging times.
