3 great spots for a cup of tea in North Sheffield

Enjoy the perfect cuppa the next time you’re out and about in North Sheffield; these are some of our personal favourite places to grab a spot of tea and a bite to eat.

Buttercup Café

Buttercup is one of Sheffield’s shining stars, recently rated 3rd best place for tea and cake in Sheffield. Located in Hillsborough, the family-run café’s selection of homemade cakes, scones and sandwiches are simply unmatched. Not only that, but you’d struggle to find a friendlier bunch than the team here at Buttercup!

Although it may look on the smaller side from the outside, its appearance is deceiving. Inside, the café opens up into a long, open-plan room, with plenty of room for guests with wheelchairs. There is also on-street parking available right on the doorstep, however this can be hard to find during the busier times of the day. Despite this, car parking can be found on nearby streets or, being in the heart of Hillsborough, travelling by foot or public transport is an easy option.

Henry's Café

Also known as Henry’s, this local café is situated right next to Firth Park; making it the perfect place to visit after a stroll in the park on a summer’s day. Much like Buttercup, their freshly baked menu offers a wide range of food including breakfast, lunch and sweet treats.

They also offer an option to order an afternoon tea at just £8.75 with sandwiches, scones, quiche, sausage rolls and unlimited tea and coffee! Not only has it got lots of outside seating, but it also has a large, spacious area inside with wide glass doors; offering a charming, decorative interior for days when the weather may not be so charming outside!

The Coach House Café Depot Bakery

After 5 years and a £1 million restoration by Age UK Sheffield, The Coach House Café, Depot Bakery at Hillsborough Park opened its doors for the first time in March 2022. The aim of the café was to be dementia-friendly, generating money for the Age UK charity to further invest in activities for older people; making it a more than ideal place to come with your elderly loved one.

The café is also part of a wider ‘Coach House Project’, at Hillsborough Park by Age UK. The building offers activities ranging from yoga, Pilates, dancing to chair-based exercises. It really does have it all!
