What is care actually like?

Here are some of our clients real stories (names have been changed) to help you decide if care is right for you or a loved one

Real life care stories

Are you exploring care for a loved one for the first time and wondering what that might looks like? Or maybe you’re curious about what it would be like to work in care? Here, we offer you a sneak peak into what care looks like for some of our clients and Care Professionals.*

Our client Edith is generally very fit and well, although her mobility has declined a little in recent years, and she has a loving family that she’s very proud of. Her Care Professional Millie has visited her once a week for over five years now to help with housekeeping. Millie is also happy to pop out to the shops if Edith needs a top up on her shopping, or to take her to any appointments she might need to go to.

Our Care Pro Alina has supported Joy for over a year now. Joy initially had two visits a day, which has recently increased to three. Joy struggles with remembering her daily routine due to her dementia, so Alina guides her through tasks like getting dressed and having a shower. She prepares meals for Joy, making sure to give Joy choices about what she’d like to have, and administers her medication. Joy welcomes Alina and her other Care Pros with a big smile on every visit and often says how grateful she is for their help.

Ben has recently started supporting a new client, Mike. Mike has had some falls recently and felt that he needed to have someone with him when he showered. Ben visits Mike every other morning as this is Mike’s preference. They very quickly settled into a good routine and Mike feels much more confident with his morning routine knowing that Ben is on hand, saying that Ben makes him feel safe.

These are just some of the ways in which our Care Professionals are helping older adults in the community to live safely at home. To find out more about how we can help your loved one or to join our team, please do get in touch.
