1st CAREGiver of quarter Clair Bird
6th Caregiver meeting – Ginette did a presentation on Oral Hygiene for clients and how we can assist them with cleaning their teeth and dentures. 2nd presentation was on Nutrition for Dementia clients ‘Food for Thought’, this included hints and tips for assisting our dementia clients with eating at meal times.
21st5 year anniversary party – We had a good turnout of guests from Caregivers to Clients and this event was also attended by the Mayor of Hillingdon Cllr Mary O’Connor MBE. Caregivers who had completed their 2nd, 3rd & 4th Year with HISC were given an award in appreciation of their length of service. The Caregiver of the year award was given to Reeta Vaish. Good PR was achieved as local press covered the event.

Ginette did a presentation on Mental Health awareness. Cherelle managed to prepare a medication quiz for the attendees to do, which was fun whilst you refresh your knowledge!
19th Ginette, Marie & Natalie host a stall at Hillingdon Carers Fair at Pavilions Shopping centre in Uxbridge to support Carers week
20thGinette attends Charity Networking Afternoon Tea at The Barn Hotel in Ruislip to help raise funds for London Borough of Harrow Mayors chosen charities and network with other local businesses
21st Stoma Bag training - This was again attended by many of our Caregivers who expressed an interest in wanting to learn how to work with Stoma Bags.

13&14th Marie & Ginette attend 2 day Moving and Handling Trainer course-which means we now have two office based trainers to deliver this training to our staff
18th Caregiver Meeting-presentation from Simply Health - Caregiver of Quarter Junko Cullimore
Ginette made a PowerPoint presentation on “Urine Infections and their causes”
A representative from Simply Health also gave information on the new health cash plan available to all staff in order to claim back on their medical/dental expenses.

20th Cherelle & Josie attend Job fair at Uxbridge job centre – This was quite a successful day!
We managed to get lots of applicants interested in HISC
22ndOur first Alzheimer’s memory walk around Eastcote -
Josie worked hard to promote this event and did a good job recruiting sponsored candidates to
come along. The day was a huge success not only did we manage to raise £1,870 but we also
had one of the hottest days in the month which complimented our walk nicely as it pelted down
the next day!
27th QCF Enrolment –Another chance for Caregivers to enrol on the Level 2 QCF in
Health & Social Care
28thMacmillan Coffee morning at our office – This too was a successful event, Josie used her time networking to try and get local people to come along. The cakes, tea and biscuits were enjoyed and even some Caregivers showed their support by buying cakes to bring along to the event. We raised
£111.15 by holding a raffle and selling refreshments.
9th Josie attends Age UK 60+ fair at Mall Pavilions’ in Uxbridge – Josie managed to make a good contact from AGE UK Hayes and has since met her to discuss future events HISC can be involved in.

7th Ginette and Natalie host a Chocoholics and Lingerie party at the office to raise funds for Michael Sobell Hospice which is based at Mount Vernon Northwood, Middlesex.
Staff and Caregivers along with friends and family members took part in a different style of
frilly and decadent fundraising for a very good cause, raising awareness and donating the proceeds from the commission of sales £40.00 The sale of the little Christmas tree teddy bears that Josie was promoting on behalf of Michael Sobell managed to raise £47.56
14th Safe Handling of Medication training enrolment – All Caregivers were very enthusiastic about enrolling on this course.

28th & 29th Ginette attends HISC Alzheimer’s and Dementia trainer course, she is now a recognised trainer to deliver the Home Instead City & Guilds accredited training programme on Alzheimer’s and Dementia to our staff

14th Staff Christmas party held at office – Great food, sensible drinking, and a wonderful atmosphere
was had by all. Caregivers were given their Christmas gifts and a free raffle with some very special prizes. Everyone danced the night away whilst shaking their stuff with the Wii dance!
18thOlder Peoples Tea Dance - Uxbridge Civic Centre
This successful event was the last held for the year and was attended by over 100 people.
Josie made sure our literature was distributed on every table, and even helped
with the setting up of the hall and the pouring of drinks; this enabled her to initiate
conversation with most everyone there, and promote HISC.
19thOffice staff meal - Great meal out with office staff at the Orchard in Ruislip.
