Our 2025 Care Impact

In 2025, our team at Home Instead Richmond delivered close to 160,000 hours of care to our wonderful clients, which includes 7,800 hours of live-in care per month.

It also includes the time, thought, and coordination that takes place before a single visit begins. There was over 1,750 hours of office-based planning per-month, communication and quality assurance in October alone.

None of this happens without our people. And this year, we were proud to employ 107 individuals locally, each playing their part in delivering care that’s not only consistent and high quality, but deeply personal.

Real Support for Real Lives

But what do the numbers look like in practice?

Sometimes, it’s helping someone get back to the cinema for the first time in years, like one of our clients, a film-lover, who began to find the local cinema quite overwhelming. She now, with the support of her Care Pro, enjoys dementia-friendly film screenings at Sherwood Grange.

Other times, it’s been about building small routines that restore confidence. Clients who have started to struggle to reach hair appointments for example, because of accessibility, timing, or just the stress of it all, are now making regular visits to a dementia-friendly salon, with support from their Care Pro.

Families have also felt the benefit of better information and practical support. This year, several households took key steps to reduce fall risks after local talks which we supported. The result of which has meant greater safety and reassurance, without compromise to independence.

2025 has not just been about the big things, we’ve supported clients through small milestones, like taking a short walk. We’ve been there through moments of celebration, illness, adjustment and, in some cases, loss.

For us at Home Instead Richmond, our care is so much more than meeting needs. It’s about enabling people to keep living the life they know, on their terms.

Home Care as a Continuation of Life

There’s a common misconception that home care marks the beginning of slowing down. However, in our experience, it often does the opposite.

With our Care Pros, our care can mark the return of routine, the resumption of friendships and the ability to take part in things that bring joy and meaning.

This year has shown, again, that good home care doesn’t pause life. It makes space for it!

Rooted in Richmond

As a local employer, we’re proud of the growing team we’ve built. Our Care Pros, schedulers, care managers, and office staff aren’t just working in Richmond, they’re part of it.

From job fair hires to local recommendations, many of our newest team members joined us after conversations that started close to home. That matters, because when care is delivered by people who know the area, understand its pace, and care about its people, something changes. It becomes more connected, more thoughtful and more sustainable.

Looking Ahead

As we head into 2026, we’re focused on building from this year’s foundations.
We’re planning to share more stories from our team and clients, and continue developing our community presence through events, partnerships, and trusted care delivery. Thank you for trusting us this year, and here’s to a wonderful 2026!
