Maintaining Continuity During COVID

The current COVID 19 situation has forced us all to adapt and think of how to do things in new ways, whether that is remote working or Zoom meetings, but one thing is for sure is that Home Instead will never sacrifice its core values no matter what the situation.


For the Redditch and Bromsgrove team, quality care and continuity of service is always at the top of their agenda, so the team were delighted when they found a way to continue this service when one of their valued clients made the decision to self-isolate many miles away with her daughter in London.


“Mrs J had built up such a wonderful bond with her CAREGiver team, that neither she nor her family wanted those relationships to end despite her temporary relocation.” Tells Gemma Allbutt, Head of Client Experience.


The team worked hard to put phone calls in place to that enabled Mrs J to keep in contact with her regular team of CAREGivers, which ensured a continuity of service but also gave some all-important sense of routine for Mrs J during these uncertain times.


“This is not something we usually offer,” Gemma continues, “But this felt like the right thing to do and we all have to adapt to the situation as it unfolds.” Needless to say Mrs J and her family have been delighted with the measures put into place, her daughter saying “I wanted to let you know the importance of continuity for Mum albeit down here and that we so appreciate all you do and recognise the challenges for your business at this challenging time.”


Her team of CAREGivers have, as usual, gone above and beyond with what they were asked to do. With one CAREGiver not only having regular phone conversations, but also sending her pictures of her garden, her family saying “thank her so much for her help and kindness in taking the photos for Mum. She was delighted!”


Whilst these times might be uncertain it’s important to take some time to recognise the positive work that is going on. Home Instead Redditch and Bromsgrove were just delighted with this feedback, “Your CAREGivers and your office support is exemplary. We could not ask for more from you all.”


The team wanted to say their heartfelt thanks to CAREGivers Efi, Dee and Rhoda who all do such a fantastic job with this particular client, also it wouldn’t be right unless they also thanked their Care Supervisor, Jackie who put in so much hard work making this happen.
