Penarth Memory Cafe. Supporting people living with dementia and their carers

Inter-generational fun & games at our January Memory Cafe!

Inter-generational Fun & Games

In January when Rise facilitated our Penarth Memory café session, Ashley surprised us with her two delightful daughters she had brought along to join in. Cassie and Bonnie were great fun, very helpful, and our group attendees thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Inter-generational mixing is so good for all concerned, and it certainly lifted our spirits on a cold winter’s day. We also practiced hand ball skills and even had a mock coconut shy to improve our eye to hand co-ordination.

Our professional guests this month, were Kelechi from Age Cymru and Dr Rebecca Oatley from Cardiff University & our volunteer Kate kept us cozy with hot drinks and biscuits.

Our free to attend, monthly Memory Cafe is a great support for people living with dementia and their carers. It offers friendship, a chance to share experiences, signposting to other resources, fun and a lovely cuppa too!

Our next session will be on Monday 12th February at 10 a.m at Room 1, Penarth Methodist Church, Woodland Place, Penarth, CF64 2EX.  All are welcome, but please feel free to contact Christine Darby to learn more. [email protected]  / Tel. 02920 569483.
