It was the first Carer’s Support session at Platfform Effro’s Sully activity sessions in June.

Whilst unpaid Carers went off for some time out and support with a therapist, those with a dementia diagnosis played “guess the film” based on music played.

We all had a variety of pictures showing stills from films, or their advertising boards, and as the music played, we sifted through until we identified which film’s music was being played.

This also gave us ample chance to talk about when the films were made, who starred in them, where we went to see them and what other memories were evoked during these conversations.

We had lots of fun singing along to some of them and dancing in our seats.

Refreshments were on hand to keep up our energy levels and when the Carers returned, they all looked happy and relaxed as they re-joined their loved ones.

If you are interested in getting support whilst knowing the person you care for with dementia is being kept occupied and safe, then contact Platfform Effro on the information below.

If you are an unpaid carer and are in need of some respite, then please call 02920 569483 to see how we can help and visit our website.
