All Things Christmas!

In December we had Ashley from Rise facilitate our festive Penarth Memory Cafe session, with a generous helping of Christmas balls!

All our sporting activities involved ball games which either required throwing or kicking the balls to score points.

There were the usual quiz questions thrown in for good measure, so our brains had a good workout too.

Our finale was pretending we were throwing snowballs at Ashley as she ran down the “playing field” and we obtained more points for each hit.

Our Professional guests were Kelechi from Age Cymru and Brian from Llais.

They spent time with the group talking about their organisations and taking any questions that arose.

Our volunteer Kate kept us supplied with hot drinks, mince pies and Christmas cake, throughout the session.

At the end we were happy to present Mary and Tony from the Trinity Church team with a wooden Christmas tree.

This was made for them by Tony Denning from the Amelia Trust farm to raise funds for the farm.

It was covered in decorations made by our Penarth Memory café attendees last month and it looked splendid.

Mary and Tony said they were thrilled with the gift and it was something they could use year on year, particularly with their tots group who always like to make decorations at Christmas time.

We look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday 8th January 2024.
