Caring insights, local updates, and everything happening across our Home Instead family.

As the autumn leaves fall and the days grow cozier, we’re excited to share the latest news, tips, and updates from Home Instead Oxford. This month, we celebrate our amazing team, highlight ways to support your wellbeing, and keep you connected with everything happening in our local community.
Lucy is our People Experience Co-Ordintor Home Instead in January 2020 and plays a vital role in welcoming high-quality Care Professionals into our team. She loves finding kind, dedicated people who can make a real difference to our clients’ lives.
Beyond recruitment, Lucy is deeply involved in the ongoing employment experience — from celebrating work anniversaries to recognising achievements and keeping our Care Professionals engaged and supported throughout their journey with us.
Outside of work, Lucy enjoys travelling and exploring new places, always ready for her next adventure.

We are thrilled to announce the opening of our brand-new Home Instead office in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, bringing our person-centred, compassionate care to clients and families in Thornbury, Yate, Dursley, and the surrounding rural communities.
This expansion would not be possible without the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of our teams in Oxford and Swindon. Their commitment to delivering exceptional care every day has been instrumental in making this growth a reality. We are also immensely grateful to our clients and their families — your trust, support, and willingness to recommend our services inspire everything we do, and we never take that for granted.
We are acutely aware that quality care can be hard to find in rural areas. Many providers overlook these communities, seeing them as less viable, but we know that families in these areas need reliable, compassionate support just as much as anywhere else. Being able to meet this need is something we are incredibly proud and excited about — bringing high-quality care to places where it is desperately needed.
As part of our expansion, we are committed to staying connected with the communities we serve. We will continue our outreach and information initiatives, ensuring families have easy access to guidance about the care journey and can make informed decisions with confidence. Our aim is to not only provide exceptional care but also to build strong, trusted relationships within every community we serve.
We cannot wait to welcome new clients and families in Thornbury and beyond, and to continue growing our positive impact across South Gloucestershire.

Just a quick reminder that the PEAQ surveys close on 3rd December! You should have received an email from WordPress with the survey link.
We really encourage everyone to take 10 minutes to complete it — your feedback helps us do our best for our clients and ensures we continue improving the care we provide. The more responses we receive, the better it reflects our team and the work we do, so please take this opportunity to let us know what you think.
Thank you for helping us make a difference!
We’re excited to launch a new weekly Question Time call for family carers, friends, colleagues, or anyone navigating the care journey for a loved one.
This is your opportunity to ask questions, seek guidance, or simply have a safe space to chat with our experienced team. Whether you need support, advice, or just someone to listen, we want to use our resources to make information and help more readily available to those who need it.
Everyone is welcome — even if you’re not a Home Instead client family. Join us each week to connect, share, and gain support from people who understand the challenges and joys of caring for a loved one.

We’re reaching out with a gentle reminder that it’s the final opportunity to contribute to our Be A Santa to a Senior campaign. Thanks to the generosity of our community, many gifts have already been collected, and we are so grateful for everyone who has donated so far.
We will be delivering the gifts to Witney and JR Hospital wards later this December, and every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference to the seniors who receive them. If you’d like to help spread a little extra festive cheer, please consider making a donation before it’s too late by visiting our Amazon wishlist: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3NEXAY2X1M9WJ?ref_=wl_share
Your kindness brings warmth and smiles to those who need it most, and we are truly thankful for your support.
We’re thrilled to be taking part in Dementia Oxfordshire’s Winter Fayre on Friday 5th December! This special event is all about bringing together people living with dementia, their families, and the wider community to share support, information, and festive cheer.
Come and meet our team, discover helpful resources for navigating the care journey, and enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone affected by dementia is celebrated and supported. We’d love to see you there and share this special day with you!

We love being part of the communities we serve, and we want to make sure we’re present at events that matter to you. Are there local fairs, clubs, markets, or community gatherings you’d like to see us at?
Your suggestions will help us connect with more families, share useful information about the care journey, and offer support where it’s needed most. Please let us know which events you think we should attend — we’d love to hear your ideas!

For families in villages like Bampton, Beckley, Burford, Standlake and Kidlington, accessing quality home care is becoming increasingly difficult. Fewer local providers, long travel distances, and limited community resources leave many families navigating complex care decisions on their own.
At Home Instead Oxford, we’re stepping in to fill the gap. Through our WOW Guide, newsletters, and local signposting, we connect families with the right services. Our dementia-trained carers and flexible care options ensure people can stay safe, independent, and socially connected — even in the most rural locations.
Families shouldn’t have to compromise on care because of where they live. Read the full blog to learn more about the challenges rural communities face and how we’re helping local families thrive at home.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our newly revamped newsletter, if you'd like to learn more about anything you've read don't hesitate to reach out today!
