Dementia Awareness on the Move: Jenny Visits Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service

This week, our trainer Jenny had the pleasure of delivering a dementia awareness session to the team at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service - and what a great session it was!

The session was tailored to help firefighters and staff better understand how dementia can affect people, and how small changes in communication and approach can make a big difference when supporting someone living with the condition.

NFRS plays a crucial role in community safety – offering home fire safety visits, fitting smoke alarms, and giving practical fire safety advice, particularly to those who may be more vulnerable. Their commitment to supporting people in their own homes makes dementia awareness an important and valuable part of their ongoing training.

We were warmly welcomed by the team, and even had a bit of fun – with our Recruiter Jody stepping into full firefighter kit for a photo opportunity! Trainer Jenny also joined the crew for a snap in front of the fire engine, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
