A Double Celebration at Home Instead Norwich: Celebrating 22 Years of Caring

This week, we had the chance to pause and celebrate something really special at Home Instead Norwich – two milestones that say a lot about the people behind the care we provide every day.
Wishing Angela a Happy (Second!) Retirement
We said a fond farewell to Care Professional Angela, who has retired after seven years with us. What makes Angela’s story a little different is that this was actually her second retirement. Angela joined Home Instead after retiring from a long career in the NHS, looking for a way to keep doing something meaningful and people‑focused.
Over the past seven years, Angela has supported clients across Norwich with warmth, patience and genuine care. She’s always believed in the importance of connection and purpose, and that’s been clear in the way she’s worked with clients and families.
Angela isn’t stopping completely just yet. She’ll still be volunteering a few hours here and there in the community, helping by driving people to GP appointments. It’s very “Angela” – still helping, still involved, just in a different way.
We’re incredibly grateful for everything Angela has brought to Home Instead Norwich and wish her all the very best in this next chapter.

Celebrating 15 Years with Julie – Almost Since the Beginning
Alongside Angela’s retirement, we also celebrated an amazing milestone for Care Professional Julie, who has now reached 15 years with Home Instead Norwich. Julie has been with us almost since we first opened our doors, and she’s been part of our journey every step of the way.
When asked about her time with us, Julie said she has so many happy memories with clients that it’s hard to pick just one. Over the years, she’s supported people through everyday routines, big life changes and everything in between, building strong, trusting relationships along the way.
Julie’s experience, consistency and kindness have made a real difference to so many people receiving care at home in Norwich, and she remains a hugely valued member of our team.

“I Wouldn’t Have Made 15 Years Without the Team”
Reflecting on her milestone, Julie also wanted to acknowledge the support around her:
“Also, I missed the opportunity to say how much I appreciate our office staff and all the support I’ve had from you all. I know I wouldn’t have made 15 years without the kindness and strength of the Home Instead team.”
Those words mean a lot and reflect something we truly believe in – that great care is built on strong relationships, not just with clients, but within the team as well.
Celebrating the People Behind Care in Norwich
Celebrating Angela and Julie together felt right. Their journeys are different, but they share the same values – caring about people, doing the job properly, and taking pride in making a difference.
We’re proud to have had Angela as part of our team and incredibly lucky to continue working alongside Julie. Moments like these remind us that it’s the people behind the care who make Home Instead Norwich what it is.
