We have trained some of our office team in the Advanced Champion Pathways to further their knowledge, to enable us to improve the lives of those cared for by our service.
The Champions are trained in a particular field to then enable them to share knowledge to staff through team meetings, mentoring and coaching. They gain topic specific knowledge, including an accredited unit qualification. In turn they can champion this topic area to ensure we meet best practice standards and build strong relationships with professionals. By developing our colleagues to step up to these roles, we can provide better outcomes for the individuals we support.
We are proud to announce we have a Mental Capacity Champion, understanding the key elements of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, understanding the importance of complying with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and understanding the use of the Code of Practice when working with individuals who lack capacity.
We also have a End of Life – Advance Planning Champion, who understands the benefit of assessment and care planning in end of life care, understanding the holistic approach to end of life care and advanced care planning and vitally understanding the care professional’s role within end of life care in a home care setting.
The Champion qualifications are accredited to Centre of Excellence, Skills for Care and Hertfordshire Care Providers Association.
