Launch of Chepstow Memory Cafe

The Launch of Chepstow Memory Cafe at Chepstow Hospital

The 21st of February 2024 saw the heavens open and torrential rain fall upon Chepstow and with the launch of the Memory Cafe only hours away it felt like the rain was going to keep everyone from attending the very first event.  After 4 months of preparation work the day had finally arrived and with the amazing Singing Club in Chepstow  supporting the launch it was set to be an amazing day.

When individuals have a diagnosis of dementia it is important for them to stay active and socialised and coming along to one of our Memory Cafes can help provide a meaningful activity for people where they can make friends, socialise and have a real good time.  At Home Instead our events are inclusive and welcoming environments where we encourage families and friends to join in the fun so they can enjoy the activities together.

The Memory Café which was supported by the Singing Club Choir entertained the group with song renditions spanning the decades from the 1940s to more recent times with performances from The Greatest Showman to Alexander Burke which showcased the range of voices in the choir.  The smiles on people’s faces were intoxicating as everyone in the room burst into song as the choir mingled with the group members making everyone feel involved.

The next meeting is on the 20th of March at Chepstow Hospital and we look forward to inviting everyone to some more fun and entertainment.  If you would like to find out more information call Nicola on 01633 740028 or email her at [email protected].
