Join us for a fun-packed Memory Café in Chepstow Community Hospital!
Staying active and keeping the brain stimulated is incredibly important for people living with dementia. That’s why we’re thrilled to offer a fun Memory Café in Chepstow.
The Memory Café is a warm, welcoming space designed for individuals with dementia and those who support them. Our aim is to create a supportive community where families and carers can connect with others who understand what they’re going through. It’s a place to share experiences, find encouragement, and know you’re not alone.
We offer a free two-hour session each month, filled with games, activities, and friendly conversation.
Each session offers a variety of seated activities, with a tea/coffee break, giving everyone a chance to break the ice and get to know one another!
We have partnered with a local company called Rise who specialise with games and activities for those living with dementia. Rise aims to help people in the community to get active, have fun and improve their wellbeing and fitness through our unique ‘seated sports’ programme, which enables people to experience the joy of games while playing and competing together. This month we played seated football, balloon tennis and table hockey. During the games we also exercise your brain with fun quiz like games, for example name an animal with the letter A.
All activities are designed for people living with dementia, However we welcome all elderly members of the community that would like to benefit from the café. Home Instead specialise in Dementia care and can offer advice and support during the sessions.
Our Memory Cafe is on the third Wednesday of every month from 11am to 1pm. Here are the next two dates…
