Getting Stuck In

Catherine Gray Flowers helping group members to start making their Christmas Wreaths.

Christmas At The Memory Cafe

The Chepstow Hospital Memory Cafe runs on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in the day hospital and each month the group members get together to share good news and things that might have impacted them that month.  The Memory Cafe used to run from The Palmer Centre in Chepstow but moved to the hospital for easier access.  In November we made Christmas Wreaths which were donated by Catherine Gray Flowers and supported by her lovely team who facilitated the session.  It was such a suprise for the group members and as we operate from Chepstow Hospital we always offer an invite to the in-patients who joined us at this session.

Catherine arrived quite earlier and to my suprise she came equipped with the biggest collection of folage, bows, bells, dried fruit, cinammen and more to create the best Christmas Wreath any of us had every seen.  A pre-starter round had been provided for each participant and we all set out to make it our own decorating it to our hearts desire; no amount of decorative adornment was too much for Catherine to donate as she came with everything including Christmas Baubles.  The smiles and dedication to the fun event was overwhelming and the group throroughly enjoyed it.

Our next session will be on the 18th of December which will be our Christmas Party Memory Cafe.  We have a special guest attending an amazing young singer songwriter living in Chepstow by the name of Ernie Nicolaides.  Ernie won the award at the Love Live Music awards this year for best Pop/R&B artist.  This is our final cafe until the new year but what a year it has been.

We end the year which has featured, workshops, singing for the brain, choirs, games, christmas wreath making and more and we end the year with Ernie coming to sing his heart out; a year that has been full of new friendships and support.
